Parks and facilities superintendents with the Town of Danville Recreation, Arts and Community Services Department and members of the Danville Tennis and Pickleball Club cut the ribbon on Sunday afternoon on resurfaced cushioned tennis and dual-lined pickleball courts, acoustic perimeter windscreens, and a heart-redwood spectator shade arbor at Osage Station Park at 816 Brookside Drive in southern Danville. Occupying thirty-five acres along the historic 1891 Osage railroad whistle-stop on the Iron Horse Regional Trail, the community park is renowned for its volunteer-tended heritage rose garden, ballfields, and creekside walking paths.

Across the park's four fenced racquet courts, contractors milled away oxidized asphalt, installed a fiberglass crack-isolation membrane, and applied a five-coat Plexipave cushioned acrylic tournament surface in classic California blue and forest green. Two of the courts feature permanent blended pickleball lines and portable tournament-grade net systems with center-strap tensioners, expanding morning drop-in play for Danville seniors and youth clinics.

Along the central walkway separating the court banks from the Osage Station Rose Garden, carpenters built a 48-foot Mendocino heart-redwood pergola furnished with six wheelchair-accessible teak benches, paddle-queue racks, and a chilled stainless-steel bottle filler. Heavy-duty sound-absorptive privacy windscreens hung along the Brookside Drive fence line also block crosswinds and buffer court sound by 9 decibels.

The $375,000 court and arbor renovation was approved by the Danville Town Council through the Parks Capital Reserve Fund. San Ramon Valley residents can check daily drop-in open-play court schedules, youth clinic times, and online reservation policies on the Town of Danville Parks and Facilities Portal.
