The Town of Danville Cultural Arts Division unveiled its late-autumn performing arts calendar on Friday at the historic Village Theatre and Art Gallery at 233 Front Street, scheduling six weeks of acoustic concerts, repertory theatre productions, and youth stagecraft residencies running through December 18. Cultural arts coordinator staff announced that Friday evening's box office opening includes community-priced seating tiers for resident seniors, San Ramon Valley Unified School District students, and families attending weekend matinee performances. Over the summer recess, town facilities crews upgraded the 220-seat auditorium with digital theatrical LED stage lighting and an assistive hearing loop system funded through the Cultural Arts Reserve Fund.

This season's lineup opens on November 6 with the Diablo Symphony Chamber Ensemble performing works by Copland and Dvorak, followed by four weekend stagings of classic winter storytelling produced in partnership with the Role Players Ensemble. Before each Friday and Saturday evening curtain, the adjacent Art Gallery will host complimentary reception hours where patrons can tour the juried regional landscape exhibition and meet participating East Bay painters and ceramicists.

Alongside the mainstage performances, the Village Theatre Conservatory will launch an eight-week after-school technical theatre apprenticeship for middle and high school students starting Tuesday, November 3. Participants will work directly with professional sound engineers, scenic carpenters, and lighting designers for three hours each week, earning community service credits while operating backstage cues for the December youth musical revue.

Downtown merchants along Hartz Avenue and Prospect Avenue have partnered with the town box office to offer a 15 percent "Dinner and Curtain" discount to ticket holders dining at participating restaurants on performance nights. Residents can reserve assigned auditorium seats, register students for the technical theatre apprenticeship, or view gallery visiting hours online through the Town of Danville Recreation Guide or in person at the Front Street box office Tuesday through Saturday.
